About 8 Ball Pool

How to Play

8 Ball Pool is played with a cue ball and 15 object balls (7 striped, 7 solid, and the 8 ball). The goal is to pocket all of your assigned group of balls (either stripes or solids) and then legally pocket the 8 ball.

1. Break Shot: One player performs the break shot to scatter the balls. If a ball is pocketed, the table remains open.
2. Determine Groups: After the break, players continue to shoot until they miss. The first successful pocket determines each player’s group (stripes or solids).
3. Taking Turns: Players alternate turns, attempting to pocket balls in their group. If a player successfully pockets a ball, they continue their turn. Missing a shot or committing a foul ends the turn.
4. Fouls: Common fouls include scratching (pocketing the cue ball), not hitting any ball, or failing to hit your own group of balls first. Fouls result in the opponent getting ball-in-hand (placing the cue ball anywhere on the table).
5. Winning: After pocketing all of your assigned group, you must call and pocket the 8 ball legally to win. Pocketing the 8 ball early or committing a foul while attempting to pocket the 8 ball results in an automatic loss.

Play strategically, aim carefully, and enjoy the game!
